PARISH LIFE

People come together to worship the One and True
God. The Triune God. The
membership of our parish is the primary source of support for our parish life
and our parish facilities. Through gifts of time, talent, and treasure we are
able to sustain the operation of our parish as well as provide for the programs
and activities so important to our community. People need to be evangelized and
grow deeper in the faith and love of our God--to make our faith relevant to the
present situation of our society. So that the teachings of our Lord will give
meaning to creation and the on-going creativity of our God with the cooperation
of mankind, incarnated to the hearts of men and women in all walks of life the
salvific death and resurrection of Christ and strengthen our will to pursue our
Christian goal. It is always easier to invest in what is personally important to
you. Therefore, you are encouraged to get involved in our parish life, to
experience what is being offered here, and to make your commitment. Our country
is considered the only Christian nation southeast asian. Yet, we have to work
hard because according to the study made through the Second Plenary Council of
the Philippines and the First Diocesan Synod of our diocese, only ten (10)
percent participates in our Sunday celebration of taking part in the breaking of
the bread. Our challenge is to continue the work of the past, to attend to the
needs of the present, and to build for the future.
Formerly called the Parish Council of the Laity (PCL). During
the Second Plenary Council of the Philippines, the Church's bishops, priests and
lay leaders believe that the setup of the Parish Council of Laity is best to be
changed to the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC). Before it is only an organization
of lay with the Parish Priest as the Spiritual Director but now it involves the
clerics, laity and religious in making up the pastoral plan of the parish. Today
many people are gifted and called to provide leadership
and symbol of unity in our parish. Such service to the parish strives to
reflect the Gospel message, to develop a spirit of collaboration between pastors
and faithful and people to people. To lay down different pastoral programs of
activities that is suited for the parish. As well as to effectively fulfill a
variety of responsibilities within the parish. Our Statement of Mission
expresses the fundamental goals and objectives of our Council.
STATEMENT OF MISSION
Holy Trinity Parish Pastoral Council exists for the purpose
of establishing and nurturing a vision for our parish as a Catholic Christian
community of faith. A community of disciples in the spirit of the Second
Plenary Council of the Philippines and the First Diocesan Synod of San
Pablo. A United community in the midst of diversities.
We believe that such a vision should strive for the
transformation of people especially of the families, for the identification of
ministry needs and competent ministers, and for the sake of responsible planning
for the future of our parish community with a humble heart.
We believe that our mission will be accomplished most
effectively by promoting a sense of community, proclaiming the Gospel,
encouraging worship and prayer, and fostering a spirit of humility,
understanding, continous communication and service to others.
Within the context of our faith we commit ourselves to
personal growth and development, leadership of our parish, and openness to the
creative, dynamism, and saving grace of the Holy Trinity.

a vision for our parish that would help us transform our lives, better identify
ministry needs and competent ministers, and plan for the future. Parish Council
members are selected every two years and serve together as a group for a two
year term of office. Ideally they are persons who are known and trusted in the
parish community, profession of the sound doctrines of the Church, consistent
recipient of the Sacraments, commitment and availability, sincerity and docility
and who manifest respect and openness toward others. Nominations for Council
membership will again be requested in the first quarter of 2003
Purpose: The on-going development, implementation, and evaluation of programs
which are considered to be vital for the life of our parish. One of the
immediate needs is the construction of the Church
building and the on-going formation of all the leaders.
Commitment: Often committee members are asked to make a 3 YEAR COMMITMENT
to service, and may have an expertise or skill that would be an asset to the
work of the committee. Information and training for the work of the committee
are provided for all new members, as well as continuing education for those have
made the commitment to serve.
Purpose: Generally formed around the clearly identifiable
needs and interests of parish members and often considered of vital importance
to the quality of our parish life. Some groups may have guidelines and a
leadership structure, others may be more loosely organized. In general, the
organization's purpose motivates members to spend time together.
Purpose: Usually projects developed in response to particular needs of the
parish or diocese
Commitment: Generally such activities call for SHORT TERM or PERIODIC
COMMITMENTS of time throughout the year. They provide a unique way for our
members whose time may be limited to contribute to our parish life.
SKILLS
Purpose: At times throughout the year persons possessing various skills
may be needed to assist the Parish Staff, or a particular Committee,
Organization, or Activity of the Parish.
Commitment: An on-going commitment would not be expected. Most often it is
specialized assistance with short term project that is needed. Such a gift of
your time and talent is a great support for the administration of our parish as
well as for the care of our members.
